Buescher Big B Tenor 1945
Original Lacquer

Folks, this horn is manufactured around 1945 and is known to be one of the legendary American saxophones. These have a very comfortable feel with a fast action that is smoot and effortless.  These horns are smooth and powerful and took part in defining the big band era sound.. This particular horns was overhauled by Tom Sparkes some 10 years ago and was essentially put in a closet after the overhaul . Included is a Protec flight case. For this type of value and tonal quality in a saxophone, it is really unsurpassed by today's more modern instruments..  $2490 AUD

Just arrived, this beautiful Yamaha soprano. I find these have a much darker tone than the Selmer. Comes with both necks. Overall in excellent condition. Plays straight out of the case. $3399 AUD

2006 Selmer Serie iii Soprano

In my view, these are really the best soprano on the market today. Beautiful tone, excellent intonation, fantastic projection. Really excellent all round. This one is lacquer and engraved. Appears to have seen very little play time. Comes with both necks and in  excellent overall condition. Save thousands on the new price.  $3999 AUD

2008 Selmer Serie ii Alto

Folks, this is basically a AS NEW alto. Serial 667,xxx is basically a 2008 manufacture. This horn has seen very little use. It is engraved and Lacquer and comes with all the bells and whistles. Comes in the original Selmer Case. Save thousands on the new price. $3999 AUD

1942 Conn 6M viii, Original Lacquer

Folks, just in is a prime example of a 6M equipped with the viii neck in Original Lacquer.  Serial number is 307,xxx, placing it around 1942. This particular variation and vintage is widely regarded as the very best of the 6M production run. Of course it has the signature rolled tone holes, lady engraving, underslung octave and G# trill. These are legendary alto saxophones that have both crisp, precise action and the dark, mellow sound that only the best RTH Conn instruments can produce. Plays well as is. Lot's more pics if you require. Comes in the original case.
$2200 AUD

Selmer Paris Super Balanced Action Tenor
Original Lacq, US Assembled, Serial 36,xxx

Folks, well the Super Balanced Action Selmer Paris Saxophone has now become one of the most desireable horns on the planet and prices have increased on these upwards quite dramatically over the last few years. Selmer was the first manufacturer to place both bell keys on the right side of the bell, improving ergonomics, action and intonation of the saxophone from it's predecessors. The Balanced Action and Super Balanced Action differ primarily from the body design and offset right hand key stacks similar to the MKVI. A very short production of 16,000 saxophones in total across all SBA flavours.

This is a very nice SBA Tenor. . Tonally on the brighter side with that irreplaceable wooly warm sound that just can't be heard in todays modern horns. This sax has a recent pad job and will play straight out of the case.
This one has around 85% original lacquer left and is a US assembled horn. It comes with it's original neck with matching serial number.  Has the split bell guards which is characteristic of an early SBA. Comes with a Selmer case. Zipper doesn't work. Case is suitable for shipping. $12,990 AUD

Selmer Paris MKVI Alto
Original Lacq, 1973, US Assembled

Also Just arrived, this is a 1973 MKVI alto, serial 239,xxx.  It sports it's original lacquer at 95%+ coverage. Great player. Has a very recent overhaul and plays perfectly straight out of the case. Nothing to spend on this one. No signs of any trauma. $5,999 AUD

Selmer Paris MKVI Alto
Original Lacq, 1969, US Assembled

Just arrived, this is a 1969 MKVI alto, serial 188,xxx.  It sports it's original lacquer at 98%+ coverage. Great player. Nice and edgy tone. Just been overhauled and ready to play straight out of the case. It has that Sanborn edge to the sound so many people are looking for. No signs of any major trauma. Comes in it's original case, also in beautiful condition. $6499 AU

Selmer Paris MKVI Alto
Original Lacq, 1955, French Assembled

Just arrived, this is a 1955 MKVI alto, serial m59,662. This is prime early vintage MKVI. Has that great bebop sound that you'd expect. This sax is a trade in from a local A grade pro who bought a vintage Tenor from me. It has been checmically delacquered and the engraving as you can see from the pics is quite clear. The keys may be original silver plate. A little hard to tell. It is quite common for a French assembeld alto to have silver plated keys. The sax has it's original neck. All in excellent condition. I see no signs of any trauma at all. This sax has been played, but not abused, and for good reason. It really sings.

Have obtained some recordings of this horn. Have a listen here.

The sax comes with a fresh overhaul with Kangaroo pads and also a Protec Backpack case.  Great player. Nice and edgy tone. Just been serviced and ready to play straight out of the case.  This is definitely a players horn to be play loud and proud infront of an audience.

  Conn 6M VIII Alto 1937
Original Silver Plate, New Overhaul

Folks, just in is a prime example of a pre war vintage 6M equipped with the viii neck in Original Satin Silver plate.

This example is an excellent original silver plate instrument with 98%+ coverage. Even the neck is still in fine condition. This sax was recently overhauled by Mark at SaxQuest in the USA. He has used the correct Conn Reso pads and this really is a Top shelf overhaul.   This 6M VIII comes with rolled tone holes and micro tuner on the neck.

Selmer Paris Super Balanced Action Tenor
Original Lacq, US Assembled, Serial 34,xxx

Folks, well the Super Balanced Action Selmer Paris Saxophone has now become one of the most desireable horns on the planet and prices have increased on these upwards quite dramatically over the last few years. Selmer was the first manufacturer to place both bell keys on the right side of the bell, improving ergonomics, action and intonation of the saxophone from it's predecessors. The Balanced Action and Super Balanced Action differ primarily from the body design and offset right hand key stacks similar to the MKVI. A very short production of 16,000 saxophones in total across all SBA flavours.

This is a super rare horn and super rare find in this condition. This is a true Jazz horn reminiscent of a time gone past. Tonally on the darker side with that irreplaceable wooly warm sound that just can't be heard in todays modern horns. This sax has a recent pad job and will play straight out of the case.
This one has around 80% original lacquer left and is a US assembled horn. It comes with it's original neck with matching serial number.
Has the split bell guards which is characteristic of an early SBA. Comes with a Selmer Tray Pack case.  $12,490 AUD

  Conn 10M 1940, Serial 295,xxx
Rolled Tone Holes, G# Trill

If you've been looking for the big tenor sound, your search is over. This is a classic 90%+ original finish pre war Conn 10M. Those of you who know the breed don't need any more information, I'm sure. For the 'newbies', the 10M has great mechanics and a huge sound that is all at once superbly easy blowing, tender when you want it be, and as powerful as any tenor ever made when you push it.

There is some minor finish pitting & light stand marks, but no dents or dings worth mentioning. There is no evidence of any damage repair. There are some mods, including a Selmer style thumb rest, Alternate front high F extension (easily reversible), right hand pinky cluster (easily reversible). None of these impact sound, but are designed to improve ergonomics.   Comes in a rectangular style. Sound is very reministent of that dark tonal quality from The Prez' (Lester Young) as he was synonomous with this model of saxophone. $3790 AUD

1959 Selmer MKVI Tenor, Serial 82,xxx
US Assembled, Original Lacquer & Neck

Not too much more to say, apart from 75% Original Lacquer, matching serial number on the neck. A Brand New Premium overhaul with custom metal reso's.  A hardly noticeable patch o nthe neck where a mic bug was removed. Plays exactly like a Brecker vintage horn should. Big Dynamic spread and enough power to peel the paint off the walls.  No signs of any trauma. Comes with a Protec Flight Case. $12,999 AUD
